Age limit / Pregnancy

Advice for pregnant women

Today, in Sweden, there is no clear information given to pregnant women about whether or not they should dye their hair during pregnancy. It is known that chemicals can be absorbed through the skin into the scalp and it cannot be ruled out that this can negatively affect the fetus. It is also known that the fetus's organs are formed during the first twelve weeks of pregnancy and that during these weeks they are especially sensitive to the effects of chemicals.
With the colors and plants we use, there are no known risks, but if you want to be completely safe, we recommend highlights/balayage instead, where you don't add color to the scalp.

Advice for parents of teenagers

As a parent of a teenager, it is not always easy to resist when your child wants to dye their hair, but a counterargument is that in the EU there is an age limit of 16 years before you can use traditional hair dye. The reason for the age limit is that the earlier you start exposing yourself to harmful chemicals, the greater the risk of developing an allergy to them in the long run. Since we do not use the above-mentioned harmful chemicals, this recommendation does not apply to our color treatments.

However, we have our own policy regarding children.

0-12 years - We do not perform color-changing treatments on children under 12 years of age.

12-16 years - We do not perform full color changes on children between 12-16 years, but instead recommend highlights/balayage or dip dye. This provides a smoother growth and thus less maintenance requirements. The presence of the guardian during consultation and treatment is a requirement.
